With 60mm f2.4 MARCO, which focus on the slow side during MARCRO mode, our fully charge Ebay battery took only 270 shoots (within 2 hours).

Our X-T1 was using 70% brightness and LCD is on most of the time for reviewing shoot by shoot.

Yeah, that sounds about right. The X-T1 is hard on batteries, and the batteries are on the small side.

A few hints to improve battery life: You don't need to chimp, if it looks right in the viewfinder, and you can turn on the histogram to check exposure as well, you know what you are getting. Also, don't use the rear screen, use the viewfinder and have it set to eye sensor so it only comes on when you are looking through it.

You probably won't get more than 500 shots on a battery even doing that. Coming from Pentax, which is very good for battery consumption, the Fuji is a bit hard to get used to in this regard, but it is what it is. It's a battery hungry camera that can't house a big battery because of it's small size.

The battery grip can help a lot, but  I think a person needs half a dozen batteries for this camera if they intend to use it a lot.
