Joel

It is very sharp and great value. It is large, though. On my Nex it was slowish to focus, I'm not sure if AF is better on m43.

Sigma 19 F/2.8 is a Great Lens. Read my Amazon.review, hard to missed. I like it so much that I bought the same Sigma 19mm for both my NEX and M43. Which platform is better, hard to say;

  • Sigma 19 (M43) is slower-to-startup, but M43 camera focus faster, shorter AF acquisition delay
  • Sigma 19 (NEX) is faster-to-startup, but NEX camear focus SLOWER, longer AF acquisition delay

In the end, here is my conclusion on M43 vs NEX with Sigma lens

  • Sigma 30 f/2.8 DN is better on NEX. Its 45mm Field-of-View, with great narrow DOF for casual portraits. In fact, Sigma 30 (NEX) give me the same DOF control as Panasonic 20/1.7 on my M43. Go and check DOF-calculator, they're neck-vs-neck due to the sensor size difference
  • Sigma 19 is good for both platforms, but for different reasons. S19(m43) is equivalent to 38mm, so it really isn't a wide-angle prime as it is a walk-about-prime. Plus M43 has so many excellent choice for landscape, so S19 isn't as critically need as it is on NEX platform. As a former NEX owners, I was not satisfied with neither Sony 16-50 or 18-55, both required heavy software corner correction that result in soft corners. Sigma 19 is about your only choice in a sharp corner-to-corner landscape prime without software correction. This lens is actually sharp wide open @f/2.8
  • Sigma 60 - I haven't try this lens yet, but if I bought another M43, this is one of the few lens I'll buy.
