OVF and the G16 successor
Comparing the G1X & G1X II, it looks like dropping the tunnel VF freed up a lot of space, which Canon applied to the lens' zoom and aperture range.
IMO that's a great tradeoff. (And it's just my opinion; I have no interest in composing with a parallax-inaccurate 80% VF.)
So it got me wondering, how much lens improvement and/or size reduction (of the body itself) could be designed into a G16 successor by dropping the tunnel VF.
28-200 equivalence, at F/1.8-2.8, with a vertically smaller body? I'd buy that camera!
