Fuji Lenses - IR Test Results
Since this seems to be a popular topic as of late here are the results of multiple tests I have performed on various Fuji lenses on my full-spectrum IR converted X-E1. The included f-stop is where I have found a hotspot to first appear when using a wide open aperture as the starting point. I used a B+W 092 filter for all tests.
16-50mm: 16mm - f16, 35mm - f16, 50mm - f16
50-230mm: 50mm - none, 135mm - f11, 230mm - none
18-55mm: 18mm - f4 to f5.6, 35mm - f5.6 to f8, 55mm - f8 to f11
55-200mm: 55mm - f16, 135mm - none, 200mm - none
35mm: f16 to none
56mm: f5.6 to f8
60mm: f4 to f5.6
I have found that reducing exposure by 1/3 has improved the lens performance by one stop in many instances - hence the f-stop ranges. Time permitting I will try to perform the same tests on the B+W 090 and 093 filters.
