D7100: so much noise ?

I've just upgraded from my D7000 to a D7100 after reading only positive reviews. I need more megapixels because I mainly shoot tele and want to get more details from the 500mm lens.

Nobody ever complained about ISO noise. According to tests and reviews, it should be roughly equivalent (at pixel level) to that of the D7000, which was already quite satisfying.

What I see with the new D7100 is MUCH MORE noise. Even reducing to 16MPx the noise is still a lot more visible than on the D7000.

Here is a brief comparison with ISO 100, 400, 1250. Daylight, not tungsteen.

My question is: "Is it normal to have so much noise ?"

In RAW it is much worse. ISO 100 pictures in ROW with NR Norm look like ISO 400-640 from the D7000. I have two weeks to make my mind and return the camera to the store. Should I ?

Thank you
