Thank you, Frank, so much.

I had trouble converting this as I wanted the faces, which were rather in the dark, to of course be the primary story. I agree that the tones are muddy, but making anything lighter than the faces drew attention away from them. For example, I decided to darken the very bright cup she is holding as it became the story when it was brighter. So I made the blacks blacker....and then didn't know how to keep the story whilst increasing the contrast range.
