Why do think that there is such a relationship. You should pose some evidence that is possible at all.  If anything, I'd expect the opposite. For instance, the Canon 10D often was challenged in the higlights, often one channel blew out before the others, leading to cyan skies. I'd think a camera with DR to spare need not suffer from that sort of problem.

More in general: seems to me you can always find a sensible way to reduce what if you have to much, but if what you need is no there, you can only make up what is lacking.
