*** Mini Challenge 338 *** Spring blooms eternal!

Thanks to salla30 for sharing my appreciation of morels - and for hosting a great challenge.

It's the first week of May.  Even after the worst winter in Chicago's history flowers are coming up and people are taking to the lakefront to run or bike or just hang around.

"Spring", of course, is one of those words that's loaded with meaning.  Please feel free to submit images that capture it in any of its incarnations.

Below the rules you'll see a couple of examples.  Show us all what you see when you envision "Spring"!

1. Enter photos: Submissions to Win, and/or Exhibitions to Show.

2. Submissions to Win: up to 3 Shots.

3. Exhibitions to Show: are encouraged and unlimited: put the word Exhibition in the Header of your Post if you do not want to be chosen as the next host. Also: if you post more than 3 photos, label the additional ones as exhibition, the first 3 will be eligible to be chosen as winners.

4. Photos from any camera taken at any time. Also encouraged (not required): a title, a story, describe conditions, settings, post processing, etc. as may be interesting along with the photo.

5. Submitting photos: for clarity, it is best to reply to this original post, (rather than under someone else’s post), and to change the subject line of your post.

6. Comments on other people's photos add to the fun, the comments may be the best prize.

7. Host will select and announce the winners at the end date. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place winners will be chosen, (as well as some honorable mentions if the host wants to).

8. 1st Place Winner Hosts the next Mini-Challenge. Pick a theme; start a new thread; give a description and some samples of what you have in mind; copy and paste (and tweak a little bit if you wish) these rules; change the end date.

9. 2nd Place Winner becomes the host if the 1st place winner requests

that for any reason.

The challenge is open for a week and ends at Midnight GMT next Friday, the 9th of May.  (...which means for the less temporally-compulsive whenever I wake up on Saturday and get to it.)

Have fun!

Almost blooming.  NEX-7 Zeiss SEL 24/1.8  hand-held in a slight breeze.

Love springs eternal, too.  Lurie Gardens, Millennium Park, Chicago.

Baha'i Temple, Wilmette, IL  For a couple days each Spring the tulip trees turn this into a fairyland.

Luke gets air.  Late on a May afternoon bouncing on a "slackline" at Oak Street Beach.

"The Bean" - June 2, 2012.  What a day!

Okay, folks.  These are just suggestions.  I'm sure a look through your archives will find many, many ways you've captured Spring.  Remember: there's no prize here for literalness.  Whimsy counts every bit as much.  Lastly, there's all that technical stuff.  But first let's see what the first warm days inspired you to shoot.
