Gnarled. Proud. And alive.

These plane trees have a history, going back to 1910: They were planted and later cut to form a natural canopy, and below the trees there was once a popular garden café. Nowadays this café doesn't exist any more, but the trees still belong to a public park - and people still like to stroll beneath them. And if you look closely at those fascinating plane trees - not one looking remotely like the other - you start to believe that they could tell you a lot of stories they've heard in the last one hundred years ...

Gnarled, proud and alive indeed.
