SX700 vs SX50 to go with a G1X MkII

Is the SX50 a noticeable improvement over the SX700 in terms of IQ, given reasonably decent conditions?

I just upgraded from an SX230 to the SX700, but the recent shopping seems to have reawakened "the bug" that has been dormant since before autofocus.  I wanted to make a jump in IQ, particularly in lower light, get back some control over DOF, etc. while maintaining portability, so my G1X II is arriving this afternoon(!).

I was thinking that I would return my SX700, but I think I will sorely miss the superzoom, which the G1X II lacks.  So, I could keep it, or, since it no longer needs to be my go-everywhere camera, I wonder if I should exchange it for the SX50.  My thinking is that the two would complement each other nicely, but the G1X II will now be the go-everywhere camera.

So, exchange SX700 for SX50?
