5D3 AF - focus lock & recompose trick?

Hi all,

A contributor in another thread somewhere mentioned a feature which he believed was built-in to the 5D3 AF system, that permits focus and recompose, BUT, the point of focus remains in place while you swing the camera to compose (I assume that means the camera selects a new AF point to cover the subject you focus on, after recomposition). I haven't read anything about this, or discovered anything in the settings that suggest it's an option - can anyone confirm? I'm guessing some care would be required to ensure that an AF point is available to cover the selected point of focus, but it might speed up one of my workflows if the option does exist...

Cheers,

Al
