That's why I have been encouraging the OP to do whatever is necessary to properly test his lens, but he seems reluctant to do so.

I was initially very happy with my 18-140mm lens, because I had only tested it briefly at 140mm. I then put the lens away for a few months while I was on holidays and only tested it fully some time later. AF-FT fixed some problems at the wide end.

Now, when I buy a lens, it's straight out to the garden to shoot a few charts and maybe try a little AF-FT if the camera has that option. I can tell within minutes whether I have a "good one" or not.
