Re: The E-M1 is excellent for casual videos

I'm really, really not a video guy. I know next to nothing about the subject so keep that in mind. So, as not-a-video-guy, I've really started to use my E-M1 to make short videos of my daughter and family at various events. The biggest thing that has prompted me to do this is the IBIS. I really dislike jittery family videos....

I'm really, really not a video guy, either. I agree with you about shaky video and, like you, I'm rather happy with the E-M1 for my own little videos. Took some video of a client riding a horse recently: client was quite surprised at how steady it seemed and asked me what I'd done. Well, basically, I'd done nothing, except pan slowly and carefully. The E-M1 did the rest.

But I know that things like "codecs" and "24p" and other mysteries matter to many people, and I hear it said often enough that Panasonic has the technical edge in these areas, for people who know and understand this stuff. I just wanted to get a better understanding of what I'm missing.
