TZ60 lens performance assessed !

The latest edition of the respected french magazine "Chasseur d'images" has done a comparison between the latest superzooms, Panasonic TZ60/ZS40, Canon SX700, Nikon S9700 and Sony HX60v.

I'm just puzzled by the results, TZ60 seems to have the weakest lens performance especially at the widest and longest end. But they think its high ISO performance is better than Canon SX700.

orange: wide angle optical performance

Yellow: Télézoom optical performance

and between both the optical quality of the rest of the range.

Dark blue: Base ISO noise performance.

The lighter blue: ISO800 performance

The lightest blue: ISO3200 performance

Panasonic TZ60 left, Sony HX60v right

SX700 left, Nikon S9700 right

But finally the gave identical overall scores to Canon SX700 and Panasonic TZ60.

owning a Nikon D600 with a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC, and a bunch of Nikon primes, a Nikon J1 but not particularly a Nikon fanboy, since I have an Olympus E-PL5, a Panasonic GX7, a Sony RX10 and a Canon S110 too!
