Re: *SP-100* Questions for Owners

Kev, I’m much obliged for your reply. Thank you for taking the time to post.

It’s a shame that this new camera has no means to adjust noise reduction, sharpening, etc., in-camera, as I always prefer to do a little fiddling in an effort to bring OOC jpegs in line with my own taste. Still, from what I’ve seen of samples thus far, the SP-100 appears to be on a par with most superzoom small sensor jobbies in terms of image quality. Hence lack of adjustment would not be any more a deal breaker for me than it was when I bought a Panasonic compact LF-1, which, alas, also carries no means of in-camera image adjustment.

Once I find out if the SP-100’s video can be set to shoot Mpeg-4 as well as ADHD (or whatever higher resolution), I may well pop back to my local stockist to make a purchase. Although I realise that video’s not important to everyone, the more I shoot stills of certain wildlife subjects, the more I’m becoming tempted to capture their intriguing behavioural patterns in short movie sequences, probably because I was once into the medium in a very keen way.

Again, thanks for your reply and happy shooting to ya.
