DIY 60D Underwater Housing
I recently made a underwater/splash housing for my D60. My son and I have been using it for about 6 months now and I have been very happy with the results. I will be making a few modifications and improvements, but the basic design is successful. It cost about $125 to make. The most expensive part is the stainless steel latches and the acrylic dome which combined are about $80. Everything is sealed with O-rings using the Parker O-ring Designs.
I'm going to be making a version 2.0 and hoping to get input on various types of design. I did a search but did not find much for legitimate water/splash housings for DSLRs. I think will I start with the enclosure and test various depths/pressures and then build on the design of ver. 1.0. I would like to add zoom and focus and flash for underwater.
Any input or web links would be appreciated.
