The vignetting is so pronounced that I think the lack of camera corrections on a very modest lens (55-210) is the culprit, not AF.  So I'm in violent agreement with the OP that the AF is working great.  I don't see anything that is sharper than the dog in the frame.

I've been using my a6000 for a few days with the 16-70 on people and it's been outstanding.  I can't/won't post the people pictures, and certainly the people don't move like the dogs, but I'm a happy owner so far.
