The magic of DA70

A week with DA70 alone was a week that promised an adventure. And a flirt long needed to try on approaches to remind me why is that lens such a darling among the Limiteds.

The DA70 is often not purchased or borrowed to be a landscape lens. To many it may be the last lens to be used in landscape. But I find that it can deliver outstanding results in landscape particularly, because it can immerse the viewer in the scene, give a kick in the imagination because it can isolate parts of the landscape — like individual gems from the necklace — and present them in best light possible.

Purple dusk.

The rendering of the lens is remarkable and it borrows a sumptuous plasticity to natural objects. The result is always dramatic and beautiful.

Summer's lease hath all too short a date.

It has a power to involve you in, providing a narrow field of view that is bursting with a single emotion. And that is sometimes important to do in landscape: among the plethora of things happening between horizons, it is good to focus of a single feeling.

Race across the sky.

Oftentimes the whole of the landscape is not as interesting to be remembered. But some parts of it deserve a special treatment; sometimes they are like from a different land altogether and are bursting with inner spatial harmonies and colour proportions.

Green and purple grove of the nereids.

Riders of the red sage missing.

Being fast and relatively far reaching, it is a wonderful lens to capture wildlife as well.

North by North-east.

Sometimes it may isolate details of the world that evoke memories of the childhood, and many beautiful stories that helped our imagination soar.

Pinocchio finally told the truth.

And of course, a wonderful lens for indoors photography, rendering cozy, warm pictures.

The nostalgia shop.
