GX7: problems with front wheel

I  am growing increasingly frustrated with what -- as far as I can tell -- is a bug with my Panasonic GX7. I have mine set up so that, when in aperture priority mode, the rear dial controls aperture and the front wheel controls exposure compensation. The rear wheel functions normally, and it will also allow me to adjust exposure compensation when I click it in. The front wheel, however, only sets negative exposure compensation, no matter which way I turn it. In other words, if I turn it clockwise, it can set -1/3, -2/3, -1 etc. But if I then turn it the opposite direction (i.e., counter-clockwise), it continues to add negative exposure compensation: -1 1/3, -1 2/3, -2, etc. I can't set positive exposure compensation or reduce the amount of negative exposure compensation Using the front wheel. If I click in the rear wheel, I can adjust the exposure compensation normally.

The problem persists in other modes. In manual mode, I can adjust the shutter speed with the rear wheel, but the front wheel doesn't do anything. The aperture gets set to the maximum value (i.e., f/1.7 or f/2.8), and I can't close the aperture at all. In fact, the front wheel doesn't do anything in either direction. When I turn it, the aperture value turns yellow in the viewfinder to show it is activated, but the value doesn't change.

In playback mode, turning the front wheel takes me back through my pictures, but I can't go forward. I have to use the direction pad for that.

Help! I'm going crazy. The problem persists when I turn the camera on or off, it persists when I change modes, I've tried changing the dial settings, nothing helps. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,

Adam
