Thank You! This is a great suggestion. The thing that really makes it work well is the "Easy exposure compensation". When the exposure is locked, it basically becomes a shutter speed control.

A few minor problems:

- The shutter speed will only go two stops in either direction.

- You have to set a long meter timeout which probably uses the battery. (I have the LCD backlights set to automatically turn on when I change a setting)

- The max timeout is 30 minutes. Not long enough if you are shooting an event.

Correction to my own post.  The max timeout can be set to "no limit" (you have to scroll down to page 2 to see it).
