d700 + lens

Hey everyone!

Im upgrading from an entry level canon and it would be great to have a few tips before spending the bucks!

Budget: 2000-2300 USD

Priorities: I take mostly people pictures and portraits. I have a baby coming so I really want a killer camera for that.

Besides image quality, its quite important for me low light performance and depth of field.

My choice so far is an used D700 (seems to be a great camera and the FF should help a lot with low light and DoF).

For the lens, I've heard wonderful things about the new Sigma 18-35MM 1.8 DC HSM.

To get a bit more versatility, I could also get one of the cheap 50MM 1.8 or the 90MM.

Any thoughts?? Good selection?? Do you have a better idea??

Thanks a lot!!!
