But many of us organized our program icon exactly where we wanted them, in the size we wanted, grouped in our work groups and used the menus for less used programs features.  The rest was done through keyboard short cuts. Of course the register did need modifying to get rid of some silly restrictions about what we could put where we wanted things. The pop up windows stayed small and well behaved.  Tool bar never had enough space for the frequently used programs.  I guess the tiles might be useful if size, color, title, postion, grouping, and  usefulness was freely adjustable.  That would not leave much of the original system, would it? Installed classic menu and ignored them after a few minutes.
