Re: pentax K5, lenses for traveling

Hi Danny,

It might be worth checking your metadata, e.g in Lightroom, to see what focal lenghths you most often shoot at with your current camera and use that info to make your decision.

I took a portable hard drive for backup when I went to New Zealand last year and had 2 8gb cards. It was fine.

On the same trip I had a k5 with an fa 20mm, da35 mm and fa 50 mm, and an 1.7 x afa. I had but left at home a fa 135mm. In retrospect I should have left the 50 and taken the 135.

That would cover most situations for me.

An alternative to a dedicated macro is to use a close up filter. I use a +1 and +3 on various lenses including the 60-250mm and 6x7 format.

Give yourself plenty of practice too, and good luck.
