Using 135mm Minolta prime- advice on focus peaking on GX7 (C&C)

Following my recent desire to branch out I bought a Inter city Minolta 135mm prime from eBay... good condition although not the best example (was cheap however)

Really struggling on the GX7 as the focus peaking seems really intermittent...lots of really out of focus shots. However I love the focal length as you can get really intimate shots without seeming like you are in peoples faces. Does anyone have any suggestions for increasing the sensitivity of the focus peaking as if I can improve this I may buy a more expensive version

Hand held... lying prone. Shot @f2.8 (for a trial). The sharpest one I managed which still isnt great.

By comparison a photo from my oly 45... unsharpened, just some colour enhancement and lifted shadows

Macro seems better...but still not great (although handheld so expectations should be lower)

Not true macro I know but the closest focusing distance I could get
