Re: Got IQ? The P20/1.7 certainly does!

Regardless of its (fairly minor) drawbacks, the bottom line is that the P20/1.7 can and does deliver excellent IQ (Image Quality). After all, the final image is what really counts, no?

Well yes, it is an outstanding lens, but a secondary issue arises if you can't get the lens on and off the camera.  I had to return this fine lens because it was almost impossible to remove it once I managed to get it on the camera. I replaced it as best I could with the Sigma 19mm, which Lens Rental testing shows to be very nearly as good as the 20mm and much better than the kit zoom or Pana 14-45 zoom or the Oly 17 f2.8. I believe that it tested better than  the 17 f1.8 also but I don't recall that comparison clearly. Anyway the Sigma arrives Friday and I will know more after that. B and H doesn't have any of the 19mm available, and Amazon had only one or two left when I ordered mine. I would prefer to  use the 20mm but not if I can't get it off the camera.

Severa suggestions have been made about lubrication the camera flange or the lens mount, and if the 19, which should arrive soon, proves difficult to get on and off the camera,  I may try one of these out of desperation, and in that case I would post my results here. The suggestions include WD-40, white lithium grease, and sebum. They all sound risky to me. Many posters strongly advise not lubricating.
