Some tulips from Amsterdam and a French beauty (LX7)

I just bought these at my local open-air market, the Nieuwmarkt (the "New Market", which it was 600 years ago). A selection of locally grown tulips in a brown paper wrapper.

I'm finding the LX7 an amazing casual closeup tool, hand-held without any extras. With the lens wide open it can focus as close as 1 cm. away. This calls for an obligingly static subject and a reasonably steady hand or a support, of course. The wide setting seems to be quite forgiving of low light, so I try to reduce the aperture to at least 5.6 for reasonable DOF. This shot was taken indoors in overcast daylight. I used the built-in flash with one finger deflecting most of the direct light, which gave me the luxury of using the tightest aperture F8.
