How does IS-Auto on E-P5 and lens stabilization work?

I have the Panasonic pancake 12-32mm kit lens.  There are no controls on the lens so lens stabilization can not be turned off.  If I put it on my E-P5 and have IBIS set to IS-Auto, will the E-P5 not use IBIS and automatically use the Panasonic lens stabilization?

The manual was pretty cryptic in explaining IS-Auto.

I hope that is how it works, as it is a pain to turn off IS via the SCP when utting the lens on the E-P5, then remembering to turn it back on when I take the lens off.
