A6000 = COTY?

(COTY = Camera Of The Year, as awarded by Popular Photography magazine)

2008 COTY = Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1

2009 COTY = Nikon D3X

2010 COTY = Sony A55

2011 COTY = Sony NEX-7

2012 COTY = Canon 5D MkIII

2013 COTY = Sony A7R

2014 COTY = ?

I think barring a long-awaited replacement to the Canon 7D with a breakthrough sensor, or a rumored high-megapixelage Canon "3D" response to the Nikon D800...  I think the A6000 stands a good chance of winning this one.

Olympus OM-D EM-1 - was introduced in 2013 and was considered... but did not win.

Sony A7S - this is a tough one.  It was a shocking camera that very few people foresaw.  It seems like it will be amazing, but it also seems to be a bit out of the mainstream, with two amazing features (extreme sensitivity and 4K video) and some compromises (low resolution and CDAF-only).  Granted, the NEX-7 was no speed demon in focusing speed either...  but it seems like the A6000 is the better-rounded choice with no obvious detriments.

What do you think?  Any cameras (just-introduced or impending) from other makes that you think would give the A6000 serious competition for this title?
