Re: make it simple

I have both the Canon 6D with the 24-105 lens an the Fuji X-E1 with the 18-55 lens. I've also had Nikons (D7000, D5100, D3100, D70, D40, D200), Fuji S5 Pro, Canon 40D, XSi.

I'd take the Fuji any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Why?

  • Best skin tones straight from camera jpegs
  • Film-like Fuji colors instead of plasticky Canon colors
  • Very little (if any) work required in Aperture or Lightroom
  • Great meter
  • Best Auto White Balance
  • Built-in tilt flash for bounce flash photography
  • Great (probably real-life best) dynamic range
  • Built-in chromatic aberrations and distortion corrections (no distortion correction in 6D for jpegs)
  • Very light (compared to 6D + 24-105 brick)

6D is nice, possibly better for landscape shots (but watch out for lens distortion), but for people shots, in my humble opinion nothing touches Fuji.

Here's a link to a comparison between my Nikon D7000 and Fuji S5 Pro color rendition
