I just bought my 14 yr. old an ASUS MEMO 7HD 16 gb. for her Birthday a week ago. She really loves it and for the price was an awesome deal for her, I have been thinking about buying myself one also, have read that the Google Nexus 7 was good, and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and again there is the ASUS that I got my daughter. I am mainly wanting it for what my daughter wanted it for checking facebook, email, watch Netflex, and listen to music on. I don't want to spend more than I have to, but I want one which will last. For those of you who do have the ASUS Memo pad how do you like it?, do you have problems with movies skipping while you play them (my daughter doesn't, just asking).

Sure, the Asus HD7 is a great choice for the price and Asus is known for the long lasting energy, but Asus is also known for mirroring screens, that's why Asus is not my first choice. Same with the Nexus 7 and without microSD slot it's disappointing , same with Kindle.

You should check the Lenovo Yoga, it's unique in it's style, looks so good and has an aluminium body and isn't expensive either. You can see one of them here on dpreview. The other one I like is the LG G8.3, usual style, not so long lasting energy, but full HD screen and very good sound. Compare the specs with the Nexus 7 and you will know.
