Why don't people turn their flash OFF in stadiums?

Re: That's nothing

Back in the film days, a friend of mine took pictures of a laser show with a flash.  The lasers were shining through smokey air and making various patterns.  When the pictures came back, you could see nothing more than a couple feet away from the camera because the flash reflected off the smoke and made the haze look extra thick.

I didn't really know anything about photography at the time, but I knew that the light from a flash wouldn't reflect off of a laser beam.  I really underestimated how bad the pictures would look though.
