Because the entrance pupil for the m43 is a lot smaller than the Fuji lenses, given they are designing for a sensor with a crop factor of x2.

Additionally, the optical formula for the two lenses is different. The newer Fuji lenses use a design with more elements that is supposed to be optically corrected, whereas many of the m43 lenses rely on digital correction, which has tradeoffs for image quality. More elements lead to a bigger overall design.
