How to get great high ISO images with the EX2F

It's well known that the EX2F noise reduction goes into high gear at ISO 800 and above. Below ISO 800 the EX2F produces great images. At 800 and above the images are terrible (IMHO). It doesn't matter whether shooting RAW or JPEG, the images are bad because very strong high ISO noise reduction is applied to RAW.
If you are an EX2F shooter and you shoot RAW you can get great images at ISO 800 and even 1600. The technique makes use of the fact that at ISO 400 and above, the EX2F is ISOless.
If you want great images at 800 and 1600 first make sure you are shooting RAW. Then set the ISO to 400. To shoot at ISO800 just turn exposure compensation down one stop. To shoot at ISO 1600 turn exposure compensation down two stops. In your RAW developer reverse the exposure compensation and adjust noise reduction to your liking.
You will be amazed at how well the EX2F does at ISO 800 and 1600 once you sidestep the awful high ISO noise reduction applied to RAW when you set the camera ISO to these high values.
