The 18-55mm f/2.8-4.0 is quite good

This is a relatively fast kit lens, and if it was made by anyone but Fuji, it would probably be a f/3.5-5.6. It is a nice lens for street shooting, since it covers the equivalent focal length of 28-85mm. And it got stellar reviews.

However, it really pays to go wider for street shooting for those times you want to shoot buildings and large objects in congested areas. The 14mm f/2.8 is a great lens for that, but is quite expensive. You might want to think about finding a used one if your budget can stand it.

You will eventually want a fast lens too, for night shooting. The 23mm f/1.4 (also very expensive) is another gem from Fuji.

You really don't need to buy all this stuff right away. The kit lens will do fine for now. It really pays to be patient and wait for sales, rebates, or even used lenses if you are on a tight budget.
