A quick check would be to take a picture at dim light with ISO 6400 and to brighten by 1-2 stops in post processing. You can see it also with lower ISOs if you brighten enough. For example, this was taken with ISO 800 and then pushed 4 stops in LR (everything else set to default):

The problem is, high ISO is there to help get a good exposure in low light (with all the trade offs that come with it).   There's a limit to how much  one can 'push' the exposure in post, and this shows just that.   You'd have been better off upping the ISO for a brighter exposure to begin with, in such a low light situation.

Reasonable expectations,and all that.
