In the field impressions of Sony 70-200G f/2.8

Took my set up to Mexico, which was my first chance to shoot my 70-200. I use the 70-400G a ton and love it. I got the 70-200 for some indoor stuff but had the chance to walk with it.

Colors r what I expected from this glass.....Venders Cart

Sharp at 200mm f4

What I do notice is at f/2.8 the DOF is very thin. I have read many times over of comments of "not sharp at f/2.8", see pic below, focus is clearly on the center body feathers, as the head is OOF, body feathers are sharp though. If I was shooting indoor sports I would be in 3.2 range as the DOF is thin at 2.8, anyone else find this to be true on this glass?

f/2.8 DOF is pretty thin....

Performed well at night, yes that's the moon.

Nice bokeh.

Wish I was still there!!!!!

Overalll love it, wish the DOF was a little deeper at f/2.8.  Cheers
