Evidence of winter's ending ?

Despite snow in the forecasts there is considerable evidence that one of our longest, most severe winters in a few decades is being replaced by spring.

Here are a few pix of that evidence:

The "snowfleas" are jumping about on the snowdrifts, like the one above going for a solo!

100-300 on GH2 with tubes (26mm total)  Best I could do.  Advice?

Rainshowers on melting snow produces some interesting blankets:

Icicles advance during the cold nights and retreat during the warm days.

Yes, those dots on the ice counterbalancing the falling drops are the ubiquitous springtails.

A little "garden" emerging out of the snow ...

This lichen seems to be hydrophobic ...

Nurturing the mosses and lichens ...

To again form icicles ...

Faux glacier??

It's a dynamic time of year.  In spite of the dreariness there seems to be some opportunities to capture nature at work.
