A7 to A6000 image quality comparison

As I am after the smallest possible kit for travel, while maintaining good quality, it makes me wonder whether I could use the A6000 rather than the A7, as not only is the camera a little smaller, but the equivalent lenses are also smaller, though I am not sure how lens quality compares.
If performance is the issue, a Ferrari will beat a Mini-Cooper hands down. Does that mean the Cooper is pokey in the corners, or isn't fun to drive?
I don't think you could tell a random image from the photos made by either camera if you saw them as 16x20 prints on a wall, or on a large computer monitor, even though the full-frame camera has certain advantages.
