D9300 - could be the replacement of the D7200. Could also be placed above a possible D7300. The name scheme however indicates that they plan a refresh scheme like they use on the consumer line-up, which imho speaks against a full D300 replacement and more for a beefed up D7200.

But together with a D800S it could be a nice set-up and a D7200 + 6-8FPS + buffer + better AF + metering from the D800 + AF-ON and control turret would work for me.

The D9300 naming scheme doesn't imply anything about an update schedule at all.  Look at the D7x00 line.  It doesn't get updated very often and not nearly as often as the D3x00 and D5x00. It could very well be that Nikon just decided that once and for all, DX will be four digit product numbers and the ONLY thing that D9300 signifies is that it's intended to be above the D7x00 and that it's DX and we really know nothing more than that.
