Springtime and birds

Just recently I followed a thread on this forum about BIF. I have always been fascinated and impressed by the results presented at this forum of Birds In Flight ... But only recently I've begun to try it out for myself. Yesterday I took a stroll where I live. It's an area with forest - and water. So basically we have a lot of different spices of birds.

Flight path of Grey Heron

As I'm using a 70-200 mm f4 L (non IS) I sometimes have a problem with reach'. So this shot is actually a composite of 3 frames of the same bird. The PP was done in PSE.

Common Grey Crow

I was a little closer to the Crow ... So a little more detail

Next I will try to bring my 55-250 mk. II. It might not be as sharp as the L lens - but stopped down it's more than acceptable.

The Grey Herons have a nesting colony a 3-4 miles away .. so we have a lot of traffic of the birds every day - Lots of chances to practice BIF shots
