Had a worse experience with D700

I had answered a craigslist ad a few years ago - for a D700 with 8000 clicks (for the going price then of around $1900 or 2000). Unfortunately when I met the guy I had not taken my laptop - and could not really confirm the claimed shutter count then and there. But since the person looked reliable, had shown me the receipt and the camera looked to be in a good condition - I bought it. After coming home - checking the exif I found the actual shutter count to be 25k. I would not have minded a D700 with 25k shutter count if it was disclosed - but felt the trust was betrayed. I sold it the next day for $100 or $200 loss fully disclosing the actual shutter count.
