For me, Travel weight is more about the lenses.....

Hi guys,

I recently did a complete reorganization of my gear.

I used to travel with a D3s, 14-24mm, 24-70mm,70-200mm and 85mm f1.4d.

I had more than, for my next travel I purchased a D800 and the new 85mm f1.8G (wow, now that's light !).

I was thinking of getting the 35mm f1.8 as well...

Now I would bring only the D800, 2 primes and the 70-200mm.

Anyone out there having done it before ? Any thoughts or experience to share ?

Thanks in advance for your inputs,

Although I've had multiple bodies in the past, I'm pretty much down to a D4 (and a Coolpix!) at the moment.

I have a mixture of relatively 'heavy' and 'light' lenses.

Depending on the locale and subjects, my mix varies. My last 'light' kit was at Disneyland: D4, 10.5 fisheye, 28 1.4, and Zeiss 100/2. Oh, and a flash (I probably should get an SB-300 so I don't drag around the much larger SB-900 as much):

Nikon D4 ,Nikkor 28mm f/1.4D AF ,SB-900
1/500s f/1.6 at 28.0mm iso3200

Nikon D4 ,Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/100 ZF
1/125s f/2.8 at 100.0mm iso3200
