A7 1st FW update is a succes, now please Sony address this : (if you agree, please koin in)

Dr Sony

The recent FW update for the A7 pretty much does what it claims to do ! Thank you for the much improved start-up time, and the now pretty snappy AF in low light (in good light, it's always pretty swift). Thanks for now being able to just leave NR on Normal and have usable results with it.

Now, please, pretty please, address this issue that you have gloriously disregarded dispite legions crying and pleading about it. Change the darn enlargement scheme in image Playback !! Whether you're a long time NEX user or not (and a bunch of us are), it's only just *natural* and *intuitive* to press the center button while reviewing an image to enlarge it as to check focus. Please at least allow users to chose to lose the tiny, awkwardly placed C2 button, and use the large, flat, obvious, fall-under-your-thumb button instead ! Also, don't make the enlargement jump to the center of the image, instead, take it to the focus point, because that's what everybody wants to check !!

Current set-up

C2 button : enlarge to center of image

top rear wheel : change magnification level (zoom in and out)

trop front wheel and rear thumb wheel : browse through images at same magnification.

While this last option is welcome, extremely useful and an a true improvement over NEX that never offered it (!?!), you chose to assign it to the wrong dials. The natural, comfortable, and smart set-up is as follow :

*Magnify to focus point : center button

*Change mangnification level (zoom in and out) : rear thumb wheel rotation (keep current rear top wheel as well)

*Move within image : rear thumb wheel directional pads

*Browse through images at similar magnifications : front top wheel

That would bring the magnification scheme much close to what it is on the previous NEX cameras (including the N7, which many A7 owners have stepped up from, or are still shooting) and just be overall much more intuitive and comfortable for all of us.

Come on Sony it can be done, it's only a bunch of software fixes to allow it.
