Im a bit confused with insects ,butterflys & moths specifically. This specimen was found in my backyard on a lime tree, seemed to be sick or laying eggs as it didnt mind my close proximity for long enough to get a tripod out.Ive never seen a moth like this before, are there some experts who read DP Review,Im leaning towards moth because of it down wings at rest.

Hi Steve, I photographed the same type of moth when I went to the Butterfly conservatory here in my area. Actually I read in the displays that there are approximately 250,000 different specimens of this type of insect and out of those, only 18,000 are butterflies. The rest are moths.
