Re: Guy, I've Been Reading Your Info Since My PL1 Days

And, yes, I did ready the PL5 info you posted. It was helpful. But the more I explore the sub sub and subs the more I find and some of those settings are not at all clear even after looking at the manual. But, hey, I've only had the camera for a few days.

I did originally intend to fully describe every little sub-step of every menu item, but it was getting out of control to follow and was extremely messy. So I fell back to a much simpler Custom Menu list with hopefully more useful descriptions than the manual uses.

Ask me or ask in the forum about menu items that puzzle and we may all learn something.

Basically I had the E-PL1 sorted in my head so when the E-PL5 arrived I charged the battery and then spent a happy hour going through every menu item (with camera and manual) and setting it up the same as the E-PL1 was, and also sorted out the new features, which changed a bit as I used the camera.

Most sense was in using MySets for the first time. The E-PL1 with its 2 custom resets was a pain so never used them but having 4 easier to use MySets and in particular the Mode dial assignment of the E-PL5 made life so different to using the E-PL1. Mistakes when in  a hurry have basically disappeared.

The sun is shining today so I'll have a chance to take some outdoors photos and get more comfortable with the camera.

Sunny or dull, get out there and shoot and sort out the camera and get used to what it does.

All the best.

Regards.... Guy
