Q: SL1 / 100D bad light focusing performance?

Hello all,

I am thinking about getting SL1 / 100D Canon, due to small size and DxO support of Camera / lens combinations. (I would rather get X100s, alas not DxO support.)

I was thinking about getting the camera, and combination of lenses:

  • Canon 28mm F1.8 USM
  • 50mm F1.8

What is important to me is AF performance in low light conditions. I intend to use center cross phase-detect sensor, wide open.

What I would ideally expect from the camera, is that it just lock AF, precisely and without hesitation. - I would be grateful if someone could share experiences with this camera with me.
