I am not with you sorry. The kit lens is better than most say. That is my experience. And it gets corrected for jpegs incamera too. Just not that bright like f/2.8, but it is cheap and ok. It covers a good starter range and can be used for landscape if using f/8 in example. Or for close ups, which isnt that bad. Percect for beginners not knowing what they need. Especially if money comes into play too.

The kit lens is not bad. There maybe some bad copies, thata true.
