Every DSLR owner gets dust at one time or another, it's just whether they choose to admit t or not.....

My D800e has yet to show the first hint of dust, although I change lens frequently. And yes I check on occasions. Ironically dust did get in the pentaprism assembly. No biggie but kind of annoying. The camera will be sent soon to Nikon for cleaning that up.

Most likely your dust is on the focusing screen, under it actually, and impossible to clean unless you remove it. And it is not easy to do. How it gets there is a mystery to me but one of mine D800e is full of it.

The camera cleaning system has been very effective in my case. But you're right: a *little* dust *occasionally* is normal. A *lot* of dust reapparing *quickly* after cleaning the sensor is not. Which is what faulty D600 owners have reported.
