Got back from annual Caribbean pilgrimage a couple weeks back. I took D700 and primes this year: 21mm, 35 mm, 50mm, and 85mm, along with 70-300. Most used was the 35mm, then 21mm.  people photos with 50 and 85. Did not need the 70-300. Hiking, architecture, sightseeing in San Juan and St. John. Took 24-70 last year and felt too conspicuous. The 24-105 or 24-120 would be another option. Some of the architecture stuff begs for even wider.

Someone suggested less clothes and one more lens. I too found I had a lot of clothes I never unpacked.

oh how I long for that warm moist air as this winter never ends!
