I have a Nex 6 and whilst is the more aesthetically pleasing camera the A3000 with its deep grip is probably easier to hold. So whilst the A3000 looks a bit clumsy and has a poor EVF it is the better quality image maker of the 2 especially with the 18-55 lens and cost me 1/3 of the price.

Interesting comment...can you say in what way or ways you judge the A3000 to be a better image maker than the Nex-6?

(I own a Nex-6, but have always thought the A3000 a great deal.)

I can help you Bill.

The nex6 is better in many ways.

Except for the viewfinder LCD everyone know about.

the A3000 is slower to focus, ones the camera go in sleep mode it take some time to wake up.

I think is around 2 sec.

the menu system is also slower.

With A good fast SD card you can take pictures almost with no delay.

But continue is good for around 3 fine jpg then the camera slow down fast.

it will not hold but I think it slow down to 1 frame per sec after the 3 burst pictures.

I use all the focus points I find it focus faster then with the centre point only.

The difference between the NEX6 and the A3000 is speed.

Image quality is a little better on the NEX6 to .

But bought camera,s are great.

One touch t the 16-50 while it is a great lens the 18-55 is faster when you start up the lens do not have to come out like the 16-50

and is almost instant ready the 16-50 take a second or two.

hope this help.
